What, How and Why? Concrete
Concrete is a strong, durable building material. consisting of 4 main ingredients: cement, , sand, stone, and water. The variationsof these individual materials determine the overall strength, color, and appearance of the concrete.  Cement is the bonding, or hardening agent for concrete. Color is affected by thecement, sand and stone.  “Cement is made by heating limestone with small quantities of other materials (such as clay) to 1450°C in a kiln. The resulting hard substance, called ‘clinker’, is then ground with asmall amount of gypsum into a powder to make ‘Ordinary Portland Cement’, the most commonly used type of cement “
